Big fat swing

The “Big Fat Swing – Promoting Local Swing Culture” project aims to foster local swing music and dance. Scheduled to continue throughout 2024, the project will feature four Saturday evening events, each showcasing a new local Septet named “Syncopated Birds” and inviting seated audiences and active dancers.
In collaboration with Tonart Tirol and the local scene of international musicians, the project highlights the talents of Innsbruck’s professional musicians.
The new international Septet “Syncopated Birds, “ is formed purposely for Swing Dancers. They arranged a full set list with some of the hottest Jazz and Swing classics perfectly fitting the needs of swing dancers. With a mix of energetic hot jazz and the finest swing, their virtuosic performances and authentic arrangements revive the rhythms of the past, creating an atmosphere full of energy and joy. Inspired by legends like Ella Fitzgerald and Count Basie, Syncopated Birds gets dancers’ feet shuffling and kicking.
